Is it normal for the hammer pin to rotate every time the hammer moves?  I assume that the answer is yes and if so, how long does it take to make the hole in the receiver out of spec?  Thanks in advance guys.

Pin rotation won't widen the hole; the pin would have to batter the hole rather badly for deformation to occur.

as long as it doesn't walk laterally you are ok. I had one that walked, had to install some special external retainer FCG pins like you see on full auto receivers sometimes.
