Anybody got a link to Carbine Man's LW build, the one with the Vulcan CF upper and lower?

Or a list of what components he used?

Thanks for any help,

AoD

I guess it's over three months old, as I was unable to locate it.  Here is one that may be of interest:

  • Vulcan carbon/Aramid upper and lower receiver.
  • Bushmaster superlight 16" barrel.
  • Carbine handguards.
  • ARMS #40 (used to be a ARMS #38 rail and flip-up rear sight.)
  • EOTech 511.A65 (used to be an OKO)
  • ACE Ultralight rifle-length stock.
  • J&T Dist. lower parts kit (said to be Colt, excellent quality)
If you have more questions, ask away.

Vulcans carbon aramid receivers work fine. The reason for this? The parts were subcontracted to someone who gives a fuck.

Thanks Carbine Man, I appreciate it......

1. Do you know what the finished weight is, with the EOTech installed?

2. I've got the Vulcan CF upper and lower....but I've heard all the horror stories....
did you make any allowences for the possible weakness of the CF when assembling the
rifle?  Maybe using blue loctite on the buffer tube instead of torqueing it to the full spec?

Thanks again for any help,

AoD

I built almost the same carbine that CM built, with EOtech the total weight was 5.25lbs.  I don't have quite as many rounds through mine, but so far it runs like a champ.
