I am thinking the same thing.

I am sitting on 2 NIB  LE6920's and if these prices get any higher ....  I may be saying good-bye to them

Maybe he is selling it at that price because he knows that Colt is seriously backordered at the moment and they have announced that dealers are not allowed to sell to civilians.  So maybe his logic is that its worth more.   You can find the same gun on www.impactguns.com for less than 1200 new.   Crazy shit huh?

I bet SAW loves this guy. He is helping them sell out of their remaining units.

ETA: And what is going to guarantee that SAW will not order another 300 or even 3000 HB models down the road. Since this not a special edition Colt, just a special order spec, I don't really see where the value is.

I'm new to this stuff so you guys can help me here...

I've never really believed the prices on Gunbroker.com  They've never seemed realistic to me; it's as if it's there are a bunch of sham auctions designed to get unsuspecting people to believe gun prices are at a higher level than actual prices so they'll be more apt to pay those prices on other auctions.

Please tell me I'm full of sh*t so I can drop this cynical believe structure.

El_Roto

Although gunbroker has a ton of highly priced items listed by sellers 'fishin for a sucker' w/ a high Buy it Now price.

These auctions that are selling at high bidded up prices are quite ligit and represent the gun / items value on an open market forum.

Heres a thought! When the hammer drops and the bullet flies, my post/no ban will shoot just as accurate! If not better with all the bashing of Colt LE/Gov carbines...

Didn't I see a post in EE about these and the guy was called on trying to rip off members here. I think he had 5 posts. I even think I was one who said this is a family and we watch out for each other. Was a couple days ago. Since my mind don't go more than 36hrs and I forget I don't remember wich one it was.
Maybe it was the same person who posted in the EE and he got a great deal.

Here is the EE link

Hello all - I think most of you may need a lesson in history. Do any of you remember the pre-ban Colt serial number groups (the Colt AR-15 A3 Tactical Carbine). Any of these with serial numbers below 00134 were going for $3500-$6500 ea. I have seen them sold in EE for those prices and that was driven by a TEMPORARY ban. This small group of 300 carbines is it...no more.....things have become complicated with the sunset and Colt is not going to produce any more special batches. IF they do, they wont be exacly the same as these...SOMETHING will be different.
Wait a year-or-two, you will see.

Its been relisted, do you think the buyer sobered up and said "I PAID WHAT FOR A AR-15?????"

The first one was the HB model, limited to 300.  The new auction is for the normal LE6920, so it's evidently a different rifle.  Odd, though, that it would be "relisted," since it's a different item.

reminds me of (rice krispey treat?) commercial where the guy runs in to the gas station, they have one left, so he quickly snatches it, as he walks out the door the cashier reaches down into her stockpile of them and puts another "last one" in the box visible to customers....

A smart auction sellers 'trick' to divert as many new bidders to his 'new auction'

A smart (informed) buyer does not focus on the "single" treat in that box. He (or she) has confidence in the value because the "stockpile" is very small. Think about this, 300 guns total! And more than half of those went into law enforcement hands.

A price is justified when a buyer is willing to pay it. Yes, some of these figures are a bit outrageous but if some individual is willing to fork it over, then it is justified in his mind. Also your LE6920 is one of many tens of thousands of 6920's made. These outrageously priced ones were talking about are one of 300 made. Half went to LE and are probably in service, some will remain in their boxes new and unfired and will command a premium someday.
