"Refinished" my rifle today, check it out. Also recently reconfigured the setup, changing the ARMS AimPoint mount with LaRue and switching the Surefire tape switch weaponlight with an X200. The Weapon light became awfully heavy after a while and I decided to cut down on weight. Someday maybe I'll switch forends to something a bit lighter too....

That looks great. I used the Krylon from wally-world and it turned out a lot lighter. I like the shade you got a lot better. Here is a pic of mine, I need to do a new paint job.

so when you paint an ar... do you do what you normally do when painting metal and scuff it up a good bit? or do you just degrease it, cover all the important holes, and spray away?

Maybe I did mine differently or incorrectly, but I didn't cover anything (except I did close the dust cover).  I just degreased it thoroughly and went to town w/ the Krylon.  Granted, I never sprayed anything down the muzzle.

What did you use to degrease it?

The only prep I did was remove the ladder rail covers, plug the mag well with a rag, degrease with brake cleaner and spray in the sun.
