We've been over this a lot lately. Unfortunately, the posters asking about it are not Team Members and can't run a search, so I ran one for you. This is all 7.62x39mm AR posts in the AR Discussions board in the past 7 days.

I have 2 7.62x39 uppers.  One Colt A3 flat-top 16" w/flash hider (I'm going to sell this one on the EE),  and a Model "1" Sales 11.5" A2 upper.  Both run 100% in FA with "frankenmags".  I use Western Metal and the much despised U.S.A. mags.  The aftermarket mags come in 20, 25 and 30 rnd sizes.  I can usually find them at gun shows, you gotta ask around.  The holy grail is a 75 rnd drum with the AR tower... I may be able to get one made now that the AWB is gone.  I would get a few mags first, as it is pretty easy to find the uppers.  As a side note: you can use USGI mags, but they will only hold maybe 7 rounds of 7.62x39.  This doesn't make for a fun shoot in either semi or full auto, IMHO.

I enjoy shooting the 7.62, and I have a LOT of it to "process".
