I'm in the process of building a free-float Dissipator, and need some advice on which FF rail to purchase.

I was going to buy a Larue 12.0, since it's the one I liked the best, BUT apparently it's extremely difficult to install on a Dissipator, because of where the gas block is located on the rifle see here

I'm not a huge fan of the ARMS SIR since they are too heavy, IMHO.  And the SIR will put my Compact ACOG too high.  So that's out.

I like the Daniel Defense Rail, but the two side rails aren't mil-spec, which *may* be a problem since I want to mount a Surefire on the side.

I don't know much about the Troy rails, but might pick that by default.

Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance

I have three rifles with DD rails.   You will have no problems mounting a surefire on the side rails.  It has enough "meat" to mount just about anything you need.  There are a great investment and worth every penny.

Is the DD rail tall enough to clear a standard Bushmaster gas block on a Dissipator?

I have a #59 SIR on my dissy, presently, but I'm going to get the LaRue 12.0, when funds permit.

Based on what I was reading on the other thread, it might be difficult to use a Larue 12.0 in conjuction with a Dissipator because you apparently have to install the gas system after installing the rail.
