Any input, good or bad. I am thinking about setting up a 20" 6.8 with a Predator FF tactical forend for a scoped intermediate range precision rifle.

Hello Hi-Speed,

That is hte very same configuration I decided on.  I originally wanted a 24" bbl. & decided that it was too long versus not adding enough velocity (approx 25fps for each inch over 18").  I also didn't want to spend the $$$$$ for the ARMS SIR system.

The Predator threads indicate it is strong and durable.

I will post pics as soon as it gets in.

I want to see how the predator mates up to ARMS mounts and stuff.  It should meet the specs fo r the pic rails.

P4, but it shows that ARMS mounts work on them.  I shot this one about 200rds for a review I did on these rail systems awhile back.  It is a decent rail system, really light and solid, IF you mount it correctly.  If the setscrews that hold it come loose...........................see pic below for the result @ 25yds.  IMO, Loctite the setscrews that hold the unit on and Loctite the locking setscrews that go on top of the setscrews, to make sure they don't come loose.  POF says that this is not req'd, but I would for added peace of mind.

Loose rear setscrew result at 25  yds:

I am looking at the scope and it seems to high.  I think the ARMS medium mounts would help a lot in this case.

I removed the riders and lowered the scope.  It sems to work better.
