fellas... just got my first ar (built it myself... ma would be so proud!). it has a chrome lined chamber/bore. my usual cleaning regimen w/ my bolt guns is to use an ammonia-based solvent (barnes, usually). will this practice bother the chrome?

nobody can tell me if ammonia is bad for chrome lining?

Yes, ammonia is bad for chrome lining.  From what I understand, there are a couple of variables when dealing with this such as concentration of cleaning solution, length of time left in contact with barrell, etc.
