From what I understand the advantage of a midlenth gas system is that the stroke is slowed down, reducing wear and making for a smoother cycling, more reliable and less recoil. Isnt this also the advantages of the fat boy gas tubes for carbines? Which would I be better off with?

Also, with a midlength you get an increased sight radius.
