What is the difference between the two?

I know that with that they are both superior to the 1:12 twist of the m16a1 since they can shoot the 62 grain bullet, but what is the advantage of the 1:7 twist?

The 1-7 can also handle the 70,80,90,and 100 grain bullets, were as the 1-9 wont very well! and there is also a 1-6.5 out to!

The advantage of the 1x7 would be the ability to shoot 77gr and 80gr bullets. The 1x9 usually shoots up to 75gr with some that are capable of shooting the 77gr bullets (only way to know this is to try some out for the 77gr).

Not enough to make much difference unless you need to maintain that .25 MOA accuracy...
