I was curious, if another assault weapon ban is signed in the future would my 2004 post ban AR-15's be considered post or pre ban?  Would I have to buy a lower constructed after the ban sunset for it to be considered preban in the future? Any ideas? I guess I'm looking for an excuse to buy some more lowers

No one knows what the wording would be, but it pretty safe to assume that existing guns would be grandfathered as before.
