Called around today looking for an LE6920 and talked to a colt authorized dealer (http://www.kiesler.com), who has been told by colt today to stop sales of their weapons to civilians.  They will be selling to LE only in the future.  Earlier I also talked to another colt dealer (http://www.ar15sales.com) who said that pre 94 ban colt did the same thing with their sales, and he had heard that colt was about to stop their sales again.. Have any of you guys heard anything like this?

Quick question from a new user...

Suppose you did find a Colt dealer willing to sell an after-ban M4 (I assume that it is a law enforcement version), what would be a fair price to pay?

I had a guy quote me $1,399 today. Is this fair because of the scarcity and the rumors that Colt will not be selling to civilians any more? Or, is it price gouging?

Fuck COLT,and I hope very soon they file for chapter 7 because when there contract runs out they will have nothing to fall back on.

Colt can kiss my royal ass.  Just get a Bushmaster or Rock River.  Don't pay that rediclious price.

I guess it comes down to what you are willing to pay for a Colt.  Colt has a dedicated following, and it is arguable that it is worth a premium.  However, is it worth and extra $300-$600?  Only you can decide.

fuck Colt is all I will say. Do They think they're too good to sell to civies?

And lo, even though the ban is over, the price gouging begins anew.

I hope this drives the price down.  Anyone want to make a statement and dump their Colt?  Please Email me with price.

Yah, the guy I was talking to seemed like an old school dealer and went in to the politics of it, apparently colt thinks that if they don't sell to the public they will get more govt contracts, who knows.. BTW the one i'm getting is 1019.00 from www.policeguns.com, think I'll give them a plug for not driving the price through the roof like everone else. ( you guys checked out the auction sites, whoa)...Think i'm mostly leaning for the colt cause if they do go no civilian, these sunset guns might be worth some cheese to the collectors sooner or later, I'll use the money to buy 2 rock rivers..

The Colt LE  M4-A3's are around $120 more expensive than the Bushmaster M4-A3's

I just bought 4 of them.

Colt LE6920  $900

Bushmaster LE M4 Patrolman $780

Where did you get a Bushy M4 A3 Patrolman for $780?

SteyrAUG is selling the LE guns

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=21&t=221967

AR15-M4 Carbine (6920) $1,035.75 + s/h.

So $1300 is way high...

That said, I wouldn't buy a Colt, it's just a name, no more...
