Will the RRA midlength hand guard solve the problem? I'd really like to know the answer to this as well.

The mid-length should have the same spacing as the Standard Rifle so you could use a bayonet if you wanted, Or you can get an adaptor and use the CAR length upper, either way would work.

One of those slip over XM177 type flash suppressors like Bushmaster sells will solve your problem as well. Another alternative is to have the barrel cut down to 14.5, then threaded and have a Phantom flash suppressor permanently attached. That is assuming that you already have the upper. If not just get the 14.5" M4 upper with the Phantom pinned in place.

The mid lengths were not designed to have the same spacing as the 14.5" or 20" barrels, a bayo will NOT fit the way it should... but it will work.

When you say the bayonet will not fit the way it should, what does that mean exactly? Is the mid length to short, which would make the bayo sit behinf the flash hider so it would be loose or is the mid length a little long which would make the bayo sit further out on the flash hider but it would still be tight?
Does anyone have a pictue of a midlength set up with the M9 bayo installed that we could see? Appreciate it. |

I never want to be so close and so fucked that I have to go to a bayonet on an AR carbine. You'd be better off with a sword.

Yeah, I here ya, but like the guy said above. If I'm going to have the evil rifle, I want the totally evil rifle. Be nice if the bayonet lug actually held a bayonet in place even though the only reason to put it on there is for show.

Hey there is a lot of acc. 's that you must have a lug for them to work and having a good sharp Bayo with you gives you options along with a sidearm ...............
