Looking to get a Bushy M-4 in the Sunset configuration.
Like this one at Aimsurplus! How come the flash suppresors are still permanently attached? I thought after the Sunset we'd see a simple threaded-on FS. What gives?  -SteelHunter Out! |

if less than 16" the FH must still be permanently attached.
If the barrel is 16" overall with FH than it is still welded/pinned etc. The add didn't say anything about permanently attached as far as I see. |

Called AimSurplus before I first posted and they said the barrel is 16" and the FS is permanently attached. The Bushy site even states that the FS permanent... Bushy FS is permanent! Any idea if this will be "standard" practice for Bushy? -SteelHunter Out! |

the bushy 16 inch barrels do not have a perm attatched supressor, call and ask bushy

That is a 14.5" barrel with a FH permenently attached to make 16" Here is their thread on 16" Look at the 2 pics side by side you will see that second one is longer. |

The thing that confuses me is that Bushmaster is advertising the FS as the “Izzy Flash Suppressor” when the Izzy is actually a muzzle break.

Actually, they were able to get ATF approval as a muzzlebrake.

I think I would still rather have a permanently attached Phantom FH over a permanently attached Izzy MB/FH. I wonder if the Izzy is fairly loud. That is what I do not like about MBs the loud blast directed back two the sides of the shooter. Is the Izzy as effective a FH as the Phantom?
