Believe or not I didn't hear about this untila few weeks ago. I knew there was talk about the project, but the last time I heard they were deciding on the design. I kind of think that they should have gone with two towers, but whatever...

Consider this my 9/11 remembrance post...

is to rise 1,776 feet -- a nod to the year the United States declared its independence.

The History Channel had a segment on this a couple of days ago. I think they said the
grand opening would be by 2010, so we'll have ~ 2 years to enjoy it before the end of the

I heard them saying they wanted the frame of the freedom tower completed by 2006 and the rest done by 2010. That's pretty damn fast.

Check the link for it... it's got quite a price tag attached to it... the price of "freedom" so to speak.
