Oly makes an AR-based weapon platform for it. I'm wondering if it's available as an upper conversion. Probably would take a stiffer buffer spring though. I'd also be interested in knowing what kinds of magazines will work and if it can be produced with a carbine-length barrel. I'm assuming that they are using a conventional AR-type lower, not the AR-10 super-sized lower.

You can buy the upper only and it will fit any standard lower.  It uses the same buffer and spring.  The magazines are about 25.00 or you can convert any USGI 20 round magazine in about 20 minutes.  They only come with a 20 or 24" bull barrel at this time.  You might contact OLY to see what their plans may be for the future.
