Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel Threads

Does anyone know the thread length on the muzzle of an AR15?  I know the threads are 1/2" x 28 TPI, but I don't know the length of the threads to the shoulder.  I don't have a barrel handy to measure.

If I were home right now, I could tell you exactly. I've got my M16's flash suppressor off right now since I've been using a can on it. I'd say the threads are about 1/2" or so. Sorry I cannot be more exact at this time.
