I'm looking for an OD green handgrip similar to an Hogue for an Armalite AR10. Any suggestions from those of you that have one that will match the Armalite green?

Thanks

How does KAC pannel's green matches with the rest of the furniture (vltor, TD grips)? Do you have to buy Green KAC pannels separate, or does anyone sell them together with KAC RAS?

Polyak, that top rifle of yours is a thing of beauty.

Would greatly appreciate a parts rundown as well as a guestimate on what it would cost me if I were to build one similar to it from scratch.

By the way, my first post at this amazing site/forum.  I've been like a kid in Disney World for the last couple of days just checking out the site!

First off, welcome to the site, there is a ton of valuable information floating around here so stick around...and thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you like.

The specs of my carbine are:
-upper : LMT 14.5" M4 1/7 chrome lined w/ Vortex flashider
-LMT enhanced bolt with LMT standard carrier
-Magpul M93a stock with LMT 'H' buffer and spring
-TROY Industries MRF-C free floating rail handguard
-Tango Down battlegrip, foward grip and rail panels
-PRI 'Gas Buster' Charging handle with big latch
-Eotech 552 Rev'F' mounted on LARUE Tactical throw lever base
-TROY Industries single point sling
-ARMS #40 BUIS
-The lower right now is a preban PWA. After the ban I'll be putting my LMT made LCW ( Lauer Custom Weaponry ) lower on it .

That should pretty much cover the run down, I think. Most of the stuff all came from ar15.com's own C4iGrant.  You can kind of look at his web store or his section of the
Industry Section and get an idea of costs involved.  I almost don't want to know how much it all is total.

Thank you for replying so quickly, Polyak!

And thank you for providing me with a shopping list!  Looks like I've got a great project ahead of me.  Believe it or not, I've been shopping for an AR for a long time and have seen a lot of different configurations and your AR was pretty much the confirguration that I've been planning (hoping) to get.

Thanks again for you help and for the warm welcome.  Hope to be able to contribute positively here as well.

Really??  My case is a Galati (their top-of-the-line) and it holds my 16" Carbine with an EOTech/LaRue Mount - which is about the same height/width and I have a KAC Foward Grip.  The only thing I must remove is the Surefire 650 from the angle mount (I stick it in one of the magazine pockets).

This carbine:

Fits into this case:
(earlier version of carbine shown in the picture).

Can you tell more about the case?  Does it use closed cell foam?  How many pouches?  Anything on the outside?

How is the rifle secured?  Velcro or Fastex buckles?

As you can see, the case outside has a zipper compartment that contains a 4-mag shingle velcro'ed into the compartment.  Nothing obvious on the outside identifying it as a weapon case.  Even the Blackhawk logo is inside as you can see.
Rifle is secured with velcro straps.
The case is in the Blackhawk Nytaneon material - dunno about closed-cell foam.

Rifle is a 14.5 barrel with Vortex for 16.1 plus the closed stock.  Fits nicely.

Does this shingle come out and work as a chest harness or some other magazine carrying device?

Any 'extra' room - my rifle has a 16" barrel and the Sully stock which is about an inch and a half longer than a closed telestock.  Do you think it would fit?

I've never tried to use the shingle for anything else.  WRT sizes, Blackhawk have a range of sizes of this case.  I purchased the absolutely smallest one I could that would fit the overall length of my rifle with close telestock.  Check the website referenced earlier or any Blackhawk catalog to get an idea of length.

FWIW... I had a Galati case, my wanted something that didn't scream "RIFLE" when I was carrying it in public.

I hear you.  There is another thread on someone using the 26" version of the case and breaking the AR down into it's two components.

I like that idea - its smaller and looks more like luggage or a laptop than a rifle case.  However I'm finding those cases go for $82 from Lightfighter.  For 'low profile' I've been using a 26" tool box (cost $20) - not as slick as the Blackhawk case but it is less expensive.

That case is a winner - but $82 for a case made in Vietnam?  For $7 LESS the same product is available from Eagle Industries (made in the USA with a much better reputation for quality) and it's available in colors other than Black (OD, Tan, and Brown), then again Black matches my luggage...
