I decided to get my 2nd AR sooner than expected. I was going to sell my guitar to pay for my AR, Aimpoint, and accessories, but the local Fun Store was running 12 months same as cash, so I figured why not buy it now and sell my guitar when the offer is good enough. I also picked up an Auto Ordnance violin case for it. I've got an Eagle Carbine length soft side carry bag for my other AR, so I decided to get a more "discreet" looking case....
No, this is not another "Colt is better thread," or anything like that, so please don't start. I was hoping to see some other pics of cool cases and different ways you guys transport you ARs. I'm thinking of doing the "Tool Box" case as well. Also, where can I buy some good foam to replace the cheap foam in my case?

My buddy said that too. I though about foaming out my old guitar case and making a false top like in deperado, but that is more work than I want to put into it. Might be fun if I ever get layed off, though. |

Not sure...she's only two days old now, so I haven't gotten a chance to shoot her yet. It looks a tad gaudy, and will more than likely be replaced with a birdcage after the 14th.... |

That is really neat! Thats a comercially mfg case? I was thinking about getting a guitar soft case for a full size AR, or even converting a hard case, but the soft case would be the easiest fix.

Yes, the case is made by Auto Ordnace for their Thompson Maching Gun. It's a tad pricey from their website @ $134.95...I picked mine up for $79. I'll probably replace the foam inside, as it is not the best quality. That, and I'd prefer black foam.

I used to use a soft guitar case with my rifle.. it works really well at hiding the lines, but is easier to carry than the hard case since it has shoulder straps.

Thanks, I'll have to check them out. I've emailed a sound company in my area that is well renound to see if they sell the acoustic foam or memory foam in black. So far, I'm having trouble finding the foam in black at local stores. |
