I recently bought a VERY nice video camera, but I can't get it hooked up to my computer.  I am getting a new computer this weekend so I hope to have some very high quality videos soon..but for right now I used my Webcam camera and took some low quality but still kick ass videos of me bumpfireing my 45 ACP carbine from the shoulder.

ENJOY!!!!  They are each about 2.5 megs.

The server is still up. Lotta ARFCOMers hitting on the video. The connection is kinda bogged down. I'm hiding from the admin/owner right now...h.gif

I'm downloading them right now at 2.78 KB/Sec on my 1 megabit DSL so the server is probably pretty busy.

Same, but I am using cable that normally downloads at about 500 kb/sec.

Very cool vids mjohn, you will be buying .45 in major bulk very soon.  I hope you don't mind if I offer my take on bumpin'

IMO, pistol cal AR's are the easiest to bump especially with a full size buffer.  I have tried to teach several people with varying degrees of success.  I am finding that the "pull forward on the foregrip" is not the best way.  I am thinking that the better way to explain it is to "pull apart" the foregrip and the trigger maintaing even pressure between the two......if that makes any sense.  With practice, it can be VERY controllable and consistant.

Here are some vids:

I guess I'm not sure what this 'bump fire' is. It appears in the video that the gun does a short almost full auto burst? Is it suppost to do that? Is it 'legal' to do that?

Legal... costs a lot of money too :)

Okay.  I put two fingers in the trigger guard...and that is the only thing on my right hand is touching.  Then I am holding the butstock about 2" away from my shoulder.  then with a firm grip of my left hand I pull the rifle away from me while holding my right arm and fingers as stiff as I can.

And thats it.  brrrrap

This is only the second time I have tried doing it, and I was better this time than the first.  I managed to get a 6 rounds burst, but it is stuck on my other video camera.  I know that with practice I could empty the mag.

I was very worried that the range officers would get mad.  The last time I did it I had someone with FA weapons next to me...so I was hidden.  But one of the RO's came out just as I was starting yesterday.  I showed him what I was doing and his responce was "OH MAN!!!  THATS BITCHIN!!!"

My fire control group is a standard Olympic AR trigger.  This amazing FCG is available anywhere.

No trigger attachment bud, no fancy trigger.  Just bumping

Um, the list of my ownership goes.
2 Armalite
1 RRA
1 Colt
a bunch of Eagle Arms (Armalite)
And this Oly...cause they are pretty much the only game in town for 45ACP.

But I tell you what.  This Oly works pretty damn good.  And yes its forged.

Thanks for the explanation mjohn3006. Sounds like something I might have to try. Do you suppose it wouldn't work as well with a two-stage RRA trigger?

Actually it might work better.  I have two rifles with the RRA two stage.  The Olyimpic trigger I am doing this with, I think requires more over all work to pull.  So I would be willing to bet the RRA would bump easier.

I can't wait to try bumping my AK and a couple other AR's at Virginia Black Rifle Day next month.

Take a look at my videos.  Both those guns are factory assembled OLY lowers with unmodified FCGs

Single stage is best for bumpfiring AR's
