I have an 11.5 inch Bushmaster Heavy barreled A2 upper that I originally got to run on a friends M16 and being a heavy barrel I worked great. It’s now pretty much dedicated to an SBR and so I’d like to lighten it up a bit. I was wondering if ya’ll thought fluting it might be a good idea, and if so, who to send it to.

Thanks, J

I don't know.  FLuting an 11.5" barrel may not lighten it up enough to justify the $120 -$200 expense.  Considering the fluting can only be used on certain portions of the barrel, ie. 1" from end of chamber to within 3/4" of gas block, then 3/4" forward of gas block to 3/4" to end of barrel, you could realistically flute about 8" of the barrel.   If it is still to be used FA on accasion I would definitely leave it alone.  The $ for just 8" of flute would not be worth it to me.

I'd go for it, what's a couple bucks when you've got a big money NFA gun.
