Ok, I'm sure it's somewhere on the site but after searching for 15 minutes I grew impatient.  How do I take off my collaspable? Do I need a special wrench?  Trying to put on a GG&G single point adapter. Thanks.

If it's a Colt, you will need to remove the stake on the retension nut/receiver.

As for tools, just need a carbine tool to spin the retaining nut just behind the receiver.  The receiver extension will spin by hand after the retension nut is loosened.

Also, if the receiver extension/retension nut was installed with loctite, you will need a heat gun to break the bond.

The older nut has holes, the newer ones have indents like a castle, the wrenches for them are different.  As to the stake, I've not seen one, usually a wrench will do the job.
