you look at all the rear sites and they look so cool, high tech and all

but look at front sights they look so gay and lame.

is their any maker that actually makes a decent looking front sight that incorporates  the technology of the future

I've got the YHM one piece gas block/flip up front sight, it's very cool. I just installed their customizable FF tube, and the kit comes with the small sight in the pic above, which goes on  the rail on the top of the tube.  I like the YHM stuff, it seems very well made and durable, and it's affordable.

I will be adding the YHM gas block front sight to the website today if I can.  My webmaster was over last Tuesday and showed me how.  Now all I need is an ass load of luck to get it done right.

If you like the looks of those, Drew, have you not seen all the others?  The KAC front rail flip is quite similar, the Troy front rail flip has a superior sight picture (partial hood), and as mentioned there are all the rest including GG&G, PRI, and others.  These designs aren't based on trying to look pretty so that particular bitch is not directly addressed.

As mentioned above, the Troy is a very nice flip up front sight!

Does not compute.  What is so indecent about the awesome front sights we have now?  What exactly, specifically, are you looking for?  The ones we have now are awesome, I don't see the problem, but that's just me.

Call me a mod-wannabe, but wouldn't this be better asked in the optics section?

Anyway, you need to keep in mind that the fixed front sight is the most rugged available, and has proved itself through many years of actual combat.  Unless you are using a scope, there is no reason to change the front sight.  Even with the ACOG, the front sight will disapear.

Sometimes the best moustrap has already been built.
