Hi all,

I am putting together my very first AR and have decided to get a flattop upper and put an EOTech on top.  My concern is that unless I get a fold-down front site, it is going to obscure the lower half of the view through the Holosight.

Obviously, getting a fold-down FS on the upper is going to be a lot more expensive than a generic type upper with standard FSB (not to mention a lot more work), but I also would rather have the foldable FS if the standard is too distracting.

I've seen side profile views out the hole, but can anyone show me a picture looking through an EOTech or Aimpoint (Or other red-dot type optic) at a front sight?  How distracting do you personally find them to be?

All input is appreciated.

J, I will try to get a pic out to you. The lower half does get obscured but if you look at the target and not the sight, you wont notice it.
Too bad their are no ranges in between our locations. We are two hours apart.

DOA, I got your email thanks.  There is a range between us, unfortunately for YOU its in Benton ;)  I'm a member and AFAIK it's the biggest range in the state.  If you're in the area let me know and we can go.

Anybody else have opinions on whether or not to use a standard FSB?
