Thank you, I hope I don't as well. Met allot of great guys over there though which made it a little more tolerable of an experience. My hats off to all Triple Canopy and Blackwater personnel, It was a pleasure to work with your members during my deployment. There were quite a few "unmentionable" units that were were pretty cool as well.

I was wondering what the black thing on your upper left chest is.  It looks like a knife but having one there doesn't really make sense.  Could it be an NBC detector badge or something like that?

Hey 02Overlander,

Were you guys up at Anaconda?  When were you there?  My unit (military Police)ran the gates from May to end of June before we started training the Iraqi Police.  I might have seen you.  When we were there, there was nothing.  We slept in the hangers and it was just us, an engineer unit and a signal unit.  It was crazy!

We were at Camp Sather, but I was all over the place during the day, Victory and off of BIAP as well
I was there from the end of October till the beginning of March

Is that upper 11.5 or 10?  Also that a issue upper or one that was brought from home?

Since he is an Lt. It could be either.  His standard issue item was probably the pistol only and he had the foresight to see that he might need a a little more fire power, but be as small as possible.  My guess is that it is US property and was in the back of the armory waiting for just a purpose.  I probably would have gone with M4, but I am here, not there.

I don't know the details of the weapons.  The Lt is a friend of mines son.  This is one of many pictures he emails home from Afghanistan.
You can see more pictures at: www.usarak.army.mil/1501/news/news.htm

Or read about the Lt himself at Foxnews: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,115653,00.html

The mud in aIIan's pic looks like the hummer got a Marpat camo job.

I carry the same knife 02Overlander was in the sandbox. The only thing I dislike is the pocket clip. I dislike the point up carry method.
