So I was at the range this weekend and was pulling 1.2 to about 1.5 M.O.A with a RRA 20" A4 with iron sights, with Black hills 68gr.

What is every one else shooting with iron sights and, what are you shooting with (weapon and ammo)?

I can keep all my shots on a 12"x12" steel plate at 400+ yards with my FAL using the factory irons.  Never tried shooting for groups at that range though... minute of badguy would be enough to make me happy.

Never any better than that for me. That is good shooting, anywhere.

I wish you had been on my line, when I was a PMI it gave me a rush to see someone put rounds down ranges like that. The Marines need more like you, some people just do not posses the skill that you have.

I went out last weekend with my Bushy 16" A3 HBAR.I was shooting on the 100 yd range. I have a Swan Sleeve on this gun with an Aimpoint ML2 mounted. I was shooting a mix of Federal Am Eagle 55gr, S&B M193 55gr, and some 55gr South African surplus.

I started out shooting with irons thru the Aimpoint with dot turned off. I was using 2" bright orange stick on dots as my targets. I have bad eyes and could barely see the dots and the front sight at the same time. I was averaging 4" - 6" groups with all types of ammo.

After ~100 rounds I dropped the rear peep sight and turned on the Aimpoint. My groups shrunk down to 2" - 3". My sight is much clearer if I can keep both eyes open when I shoot, I should mention that I have to wear trifocal glasses. I love my Aimpoint, it may save my life one day.

Of the three types of ammo I was shooting the S&B was by far the most accurate. The Federal didn't shoot any better outa my gun than the SA surplus.

I do about 3 or 4 inches at 100 yards, using cheap-O 55 grain .223 through a stock Colt 20" HBAR. I don't usually invest the extra cash for higher quality 5.56, since my rifle will eat just about anything, and $$ is an issue most of the time.. The SS109 stays on the shelf until the next blackout. [;)] At 200 yards (max at my particular range), I can burst 2 liter soda bottles pretty easily, but can't group less than 6-8". I really am going to make it a point to get out more and bring these down.. or so I keep telling myself!

I can usually keep em at 2.0 to 2.2 useing cheap factory ammo.  But when I use my home rolled its quite a bit better.  1.0 to 1.5.  24.9 gr H335, 55grain balistic tip, cci 450 primer, and once fired Winchester .223 brass.  This is off the bags at the bench "balistic masterbation" I can do much better with that recipe with the cross hairs, best group to date is .217, but you didnt ask.  My latest training includes timed snap shots and dont ask my groups on those.  Minute of badguy is by far close enough.

The best is about 2 MoA in prone position, using magazine as a support, 10 shot group.

Usually I get around 3 to 4 MoA. Best Kneeling is 4.5~5 MoA, offhand is more than that.

I once managed to suprise myself an get a 3" group offhand at 100 yards. Never happened again, and probably never will.

I just RE-zeroed my Bushmaster M4, using Q3131A. I somehow managed to get a 3/4-inch group at 50yds; I couldn't believe that sh*t...
