Anyone know what changed on the "new style":    
- LATEST PRODUCTION COLT/U.S. MILITARY M4 - COMPLETE 4 POSITION SLIDING BUTTSTOCK KIT TYPE II
...from the old style COLT M4 4 Position stock?  Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of them to post.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the difference is the new ribbed style stock vs. the older aluminum type stock like those found on the CAR15.

The new style Colt stock's sling attachment doesn't swivel, the area immediately in front of the release chevron is perpendicular to the stock, not curved.  It's also slightly better made, with excess material trimmed.  The Colt and Vltor will only fit milspec, Colt or Vltor buffer extensions, not RRA, BM or others.
