Same here.

This year my wife got me alot of workout EQ. ( May be trying to tell me somthing ) Bench setup, weights, pull down bar. 80lb. heavy bag, speed bag, and stand for both.

It's just too hard to discribe what I want, or where to get it in the world of guns. Plus my wants are changing daily.

PS : Got a nice Craftsman 3pc. roll around tool box to play with. ( Tactical Black ! )

Well lets see Nothing to do with guns, I would just have to return it anyway.  60 inch HDTV, flies for fishing, $400.00 to lowes and some cash for the bank.  And ofcoarse the kids got lots of toys and candy.

My father and I haven't exchanged gifts since I was a kid. We have had a tenuous relationship at best.

Out of the blue his cruiser showed up in my driveway on Christmas Eve and he handed me a letter. He wrote that he was sorry for being such a shitty father.

I was floored to say the least...

Yesterday he showed up with an ACOG TA11D and 1200 rounds of M855 with an invitation to go shooting next week.

I just about shat myself...

I would have been happy with just the letter, but I'm not giving the ACOG back.

I didn't think he had it in him.

Some cool stuff and best of all your on your way to having a better relationship with your dad..My wife gave me $200 to spend on gun stuff and Im going to get a telestock assembly and a us property marked lower and tomorow I put in my order for a regular marked RRA lower that my fatherinlaw, wifes grandfather piched in to get me so now Ill have 2 to build wich Im not going to do until the ban hopefully goes away I am just going to get all the parts ahead of time and where I already have 2 preban bushmasters no problem with buying preban assemblies ahead of time.If the ban goes away I am going to build a semi auto M4A1 lookalike RAS and all and the fourth will be a fullsize. My 2 prebans are both carbines one A1 all original factory with the 11.5+5.5 supressor configuration and a 16"HBAR that has a the newer tele assembly and a 14.5 HBAR with phantom camo handguards and stocks on both the 14.5 has a H buffer and both M4 handguards.I cant wait for the ban to go.And my fifth may be a deal in the works now for an armalitefull size..I like variety.

Thanks [:)]

It certainly "made" my Christmas. Christmas has always been a tough day of the year for me. Once I start thinking about the way things used to be it always gets me down. Having him take responsibility for the past and ask for a fresh start has certainly made my lifetime.

It will be great to get my father back-and I'm looking forward to kicking his ass next week [:D]

Santa brought me enough $$ to buy my own present. (along with what I've been saving myself.)

A Bushmaster A3 with 14.5 Bbl + Mini Y comp and fixed tele stock.  Premade M4forgery!  It's my first Evil Black Gun and not likely to be my last.

I picked the fixed Tele stock after comparing it with the A2 in the shop.  I just liked the shorter LOP of the Tele.  If (uh, I mean when) the AWB dies, I'll put a real Tele stock on it.  Pics to come in the Pic Tread shortly.

On the coal thing:  Back when I used to work at a coal buring power plant, my wife asked me to bring home some coal.  Strange request, I thought, but I did it.  On X-mas, our nephew opened his present and said:  "What's this?"

Wife: "What does it look like?"

Nephew: "Black rocks?"

Wife: "And what kind of rocks are black?......"

Nephew: "Oh, very funny!"

Then she gave him his real gift.

Well the wife as always found the perfect gift for me.I knew I wouldnt be getting a AR15 or anything because after buying for the kids we were broke. But she pinches the pennies(and gets an unexpected refund check)so she got me a Starlite rifle case for my SPR. She had to order it last minute but Bowers Tactical came through and got it to her before Xmas. But then again I sold my Vtor stock to get her a diamond ring guard and a fossel watch.

Here are some pics.

Hate to sound corny but this did kind of move me.
You're one of the lucky ones--miracles do happen as they say.
My pop and I were OK overall and at Christmas especially we would never let our disagreements come between. But between my two older brothers and Dad, well, it wasn't quite so good and this did hurt all of us. I can certainly relate. Wish the best for the two of you. Make the best of it with the time you still have. Regrets are a bitch.

Bringing this back to topic, it's been two years since Dad has gone and for the Christmas mom presented me with Dad's prized deer rifle. An FN Mauser in .270 he built with a beautiful Montecarlo style European walnut stock he made for it himself in the '60s, and he topped it with a fine Leupold 3x9. It's a beautiful gun and I'm proud to have it.

This Christmas has been good to me indeed.

My collection is pretty small, you should catch a load of some of the collections of some of the members on TheHighroad forums.

Tamara has a collection of something like close to 20 of the silly things.   I'm mostly interested in N-frame smiths.   Maybe 3-4 more that I'd like to get, I need: a Target Model of 1950 44Spl. M24, a Target Model of 1955 45ACP M25 or M26, a Model 29-2 44Mag, a 41Magnum M57, and possibly a pre-27 5screw 357Mag to match my 38/44.    Collection is half complete as I see it.

Troy, if I can't talk the gunshop into taking these squishy hogue things in trade towards some used presentation grade S&W grips you want the hogues?   I'll ship them out to you if you've got a square butt N-frame in need of grips.

I got big large wookie-like hands, I need a beefy grip to wrap my paws around.   The hogues are not just too soft/squishy for me but way too thin as well.

My tastes are so damned backwards.   For rifles I like things modern such as the AR15 and all it's synthetic glory or even bolt guns set into fiberglass target stocks.   For handguns, I like them aged with deep bluing and wood grips(ABSOLUTELY NO STAINLESS OR RUBBER).

My wife got me 10 SA80 30 rounders.

My parents took me and my wife skiing in Steamboat.

The best part, however, was getting to spend some time with everyone. It has been awhile since I have been able to do that.

i have had forty years of off and on relationship with my father. with the addition of a beautiful grandchild into my famliy, he has ponied up and declared that he wants to be a presense with the child. he has shown new interest, where previously he would have had none, anyway, im glad to say things are looking better for us as a family. this christmas my dad shows up with a gift for me. it is a beautifully restored winchester1890! very nice gun. have been trying to find some info on the gun, such as date of manufacture, abd whatever else i can find out about it. my dad said he has had it for fifty years, and that his uncle had given it to him (who was the original purchaser).
any links to the model 1890, AND parts (the magazine tube isnt correct and it needs to be replaced, would be appreciated!.
i have some pics but dont know how to post them on here??????????
