I tossed both my 20" A2 and CAR-15 on the bed today to do a last minute check before I leave to shoot tomorrow morning.

One thing I noticed is that the 20" A2 looks alot more sexier then the smaller M4 type setup. The both have different uses, the 20" is my CMP rifle and the CAR is the fun day at the range rifle. I had another AR but it was stolen last week. Somehow my girlfriend moved it to her side of the closet. Weird. I think she wants one.

Anyway my plan was to build a M4-gery but I think I'll just toss together another A2.

Who else on the board likes the 20" AR's? All I see recently is M4 types.

Love my M4s !!! I sold my 20in. DCM upper to a buddy of mine that only had a lower, and I'm begining to miss it. I think I'll put together another 20in. one peice at a time for fun.

As for looking at them both sprawled out on my bed. Well, the next time I stop by Fredericks of Hollywood, I'm picking up a little somthing for my M4s.

My 20" is a much better all around weapon.
More accurate at range, better velocity at distance, a more stable platform for select fire.
But I still like my M-4gery for the "cool" factor.

That's pretty cool.  Probably worth losing one under those circumstances.  Maybe some pink handgaurds would be in order?  I don't think my wife would like that, though.  She even commented on my stock when I first got the rifle, that she thought the stock should be darker black.  My wife likes my A2 a whole lot.  She never shoots my Mauser.  She has a CZ452, that she likes a lot.

I may buy another A2 before I build an M4.  I like the 20" A2 look best, as well.

I sold my 20-inch PWA last winter and have missed it ever since. I have a complete Bushmaster lower that I’d really like having a 20-inch pre-ban H-BAR upper on come Sept 15.

Regardless of the barrel length, I’ve defiantly found that the simpler/less expensive set ups are a lot more fun that a really tricked out weapon that you dare not get a nick or a scratch on. Seems like most of the weapons I get have to be added on to and they get to the point where I don’t want to take them out to shoot because I might blemish that $1000 scope or whatever. I usually revert to the more “beater” rifles. I gotta quit doing this.

I am waiting until after the ban to make my 20 inch. I cant really justify to myself a full size rifle on a preban lower, with what they cost now.

Till then, its my M4gery, currently out of action.

I'd have to agree with Gunslinger.

I like the "cool factor" on a 16"er. I'm in the middle of a build now which will probably end up being a RRA Tactical Entry model. My 20"er is my Highpower gun now(actually the only complete AR I have). I also have in the works a 24" (stripped lower only) which will be for the hordes of VarmintCong. Anyone wishing to donate to the builders fund? Kinda like a Habitat for Humanity thing!
J/K on the donations

I also sold my 20" a couple of years ago and regretted it ever since.  I just finished putting this together but she's still not done yet.

Up next will be a TA31, Harris bipod and an ARMS #40.  I have to say that of all my ARs this is one of my favorites.

I've got my A4 ordered right now.  It'll be here soon!  Mine's almost the same, except I've got a Phantom on the muzzle, a free floating RAS, RRA NM trigger, and an ARMS#40.

Love that A4!!!  Just a hair more than my M4!

Sweet A4 you got there!

Model 1 has A2 kits for $400, pretty good price, all I need is a $100 RRA lower and I have a AR for $500. At that price I could buy 2 a month and have a pretty good supply in about a years time.

Imagine walking into my closet and seeing 24 20" A2's stacked up on a rack.

I'm drooling.

I just finished putting together a 16" M-4gery but my next build will be a 20" 1/7. I figure I have one AR for short to medium range and one for medium to long range. Like most people, I prefer to have both [:)]

Yeap. Im a 20" myself. I thought about getting a shorter one for kicks. My favorie is an A1 . The light weight of it all is a big turn on. I have a Preban Colt A2 also. Its alittle heavyer because Colt didn't turn down the barrel under the handguards. But I love her just the same.WarDawg

Just said that to S_W when you I read your post.
