Please tell me that you don't plan on using the the rifle in the DCM class.
Since the rifle uses a detachable carry handle, it's not class legal (yet), and even with the carry handle attached, the rear sight will not rise high enought for match shooting. Due to the limited space on the handle, the sight housing threads are shorter than a standard fixed handle unit. |

If you are just getting started, buy a standard A2. That will save you a few hundered bucks, and odds are it will outshoot you at first. Spend your first season getting used to how things work, see if it is something you really want to stick with.
Be sure you know what you want to do. I see too many people spending big bucks on all the the fancy stuff and selling it the next summer because they didnt have the time it takes to practice enough to get good use from their DCM rifle. steve |

This was my first AR. In my humble opinion, I would go for the detachable carry handle model (MT6731). I almost didn't, and in my case it would have been a costly mistake. Pretty soon, you will most likely want to put some type of optic on top, and the removable version offers many more options.
This model is accurate, well-made, and reliable. Good choice. |
