How about trying out Cavalry Arms C1 buttstock? It's basically the same as the A1 (in length) but has a larger storage compartment. I have one on my 20" and it's awesome. I always found the A2 to be too long for me but the C1 is perfect.

there's something out there called 'delta' cheek rest or stock with compensates for height
mismatch,the pricey ones are good quality, some variations on the A2 that add or subtract length, (again pricey means solid) checkout busmasters website, they got lots of variety w/ pics. depending on which dimension you want to customize your rifle should accept any AR15 stock variant. |

I like the adjustable buttpad that DPMS put on the Deluxe 24 that I bought. I can have the pad square on my sholder but the scope is higher up. It jsut slaps on an A2 stock. |

RND has a really cool adjustable stock. Just the right blend of spacegun/standard config. Personally I'd have one now but I'm holding out till I can see one of the Magpul special purpose stocks. Those might be the ticket!
