I’ve never seen a semi-auto 9mm Colt bolt, doesn’t mean much that I haven’t seen them though.
My Colt 9mm Sporter Lightweight came from Colt with a FA bolt, I was told that’s just how it was done with these guns. I imagine the FA bolt is going to be heavier than the SA bolt and that can be desirable. Sorry I can’t be of more help, I’m curious to find out what others have to say though. Best regards, J |

All 9mm bolts I've ever seen were "full-auto", meaning the bottom shoulder was not cut back as is standard on an "AR15" carrier. Being a blow-back design, the 9mm's need all the bolt mass they can get, so the needs of the system outweighed any perceived political advantage to cutting the shoulder back.

Hi All
Pics of both carriers 9mm semi auto - 9mm full auto Troy : Take note that the semi Auto carrier does not have the oval cut out on the bottom rear of the carrier for the auto sear ... and the Full auto carrier does ... You can't compare a Standard M16 / AR-15 223 carrier to a 9MM carrier assy ..they are different designs ... Mark has a Semi Auto Carrier Not a Full Auto Carrier.. Mark - Please check your email ..
