Anyone bought one of these bbls?  How do you like it?  What is the diameter of the swell at the muzzle?

Thanks.

I haven't bought a barrel or upper from either, however I did talk to both when I was researching a new build.

Model1sales said they use E.R. Shaw barrels, and M&A said theirs are currently from one of FNs subcontractors, they wouldn't say who. I have a friend who bought a 24" Varmint upper from Model1sales, he has been happy with it.

I have bought kits and parts from both and have been well pleased.  From their pics of the lwt. bbl. it seems as if it is even lighter in profile than the DPMS or Bushy.  It has a "stepped up" section at the muzzle.  I was wondering what the stepped up diameter is, so I could see if it is actually lighter that the others, or if the step up is an increase in diameter to attatch a post ban brake, etc.

Thanks
Ghillie

I love the barrel but I am still going to change out the handguard, the step is large enuff to be threaded 1/2x28...I think it was .540(I did't thread mine cause I did not want to tear it back down..to turn the step down & cut with a die)

I use M&A parts for all my builds and have always been happy with them. I haven't gotten a chance to try one of their light weights though.

A buddy bought a lightweight 16" barreled upper from M&A and it was unreliable to say the least.
It went back to them for service and they said it was fixed but it still never ran properly.
He basically tossed it back at them at the next show.
FWIW.

The last several rifle kits that I have seen come from M&A look like they have been made up from seconds i.e. warped handguards, bad FCS, & a non responsive attitude. I'd go J&T or Model 1 .

My lightweights built using Model 1 kits and RRA lowers. Great shooters. The kits have some minor parts problems.
