I'd use their 1 pc. mount. I have a spare 1" if taht works. |

I'm from the old school of protecting the upper's rail with another rail......then selecting the proper rings.
A GG&G standard or scout length rail and medium rings of your choice will have you right on the mark. Dave S |

You'll need HIGH at LEAST. The AR has no drop in the stock, unlike a bolt rifle, so if you had medium rings, you couldn't scrunch your face down low enough to see through the scope. Most folks use extra-high rings for ARs, or better, use one-piece mounts.

Iused ARMS 35 qd base with ARMS med rings with a 50mm side focus Leupold on my RRA 24 inch Varminter and could not be happier. I have to mount it as far as possiable but clearance is not an issue. The high rings would be much too high.
