Welcome! My Pre-Ban Oly serves me well and I have built around 2 Eagle Arms lowers without a hitch. As far as a Bullpup, I don't know. My last 2 builds have run around $680 each. Not much help, but again welcome!

Out of that group get the Eagle, it's an Armalite, but with a shorter warranty and no chrome lined barrel. You might want to squirrel together another $ 100 or so and get a chrome lined Armalite or Bushmaster.

You could always build what you want and save some money. It's not all that hard and if you do run into a snag there's alot of good folks here to help ya' out.

Thanks for the input.I'm on the fence about the chrome/non-chrome lined issue.There are plenty of older weapons(that I have inspected and fired) that don't have chrome lining and still feed reliably and have bright bores and sharp rifling.Maybe someone here can push me on one side or the other.

there are Bushmasters for sale here http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/XM15_E2S_20__A3_Heavy_Bbl_Rifle.html for 770 dollers or so, so that is very close to your price range, the A2 may be a bit cheeper.

I'll echo the good advise you've already received...save a little longer and get something with a chrome lined barrel. RRA, Bushmaster, or take up one of the offers to help with a build and build the one you want. Good luck, have fun!

How many of them were large-mag-capacity semi-autos that fired bullets traveling above 3000 fps? Throat erosion increases as velocity increases, and ARs tend to be fired quickly and with large volumes of ammo. Comparing it to older guns, especially bolt rifles, is not doing an apples to apples comparison. -Troy |

OK,OK I think you all have swayed me to go with the chrome lining.I do believe I'll save a tad more and go with the Bushmaster(not the bullpup).Thanks for the input.
