Will it come off after a while?

Thanks.

Sometimes I wish they would, as they can be so @$$#$ loud!

Never saw one come off.

First the barrel was threaded. Then the suppressor was installed. A hole was drilled, a pin inserted, and the pin was welded. then the whole thing was turned in a lathe until it was even, and the whole shebang was parkerized.

No, it will not come off.

The older model that used hollow pins had this problem, the newer version uses solid pins. No problems.

No threads or welding, just pins.

My bad. Must be they mount it like that because its already 16 inches long, and permanent mounting is not required.

Coming off with this brake is a good thing. Does anyone know of a replacement that just looks like a flash suppressor and can be installed to protect the muzzle and threads?

SOG Armory makes a brake that attaches with set screws. There's a 6400 owner on the board that has pictures of it on his rifle.

Correct no OAL issues of concern and no threads to "de activate".

I hate to say it cuz I know people have had luck with set screw brakes but I have never had any luck with them. If they didn't come completely off they moved enough to enter the bullet's path.

That said, I'm not a fan of permanently attached stuff either bc it complicates maintenance.

No easy [white]buy a pre ban[/white] answer I guess.
