I emailed Ace to ask them when the M4 socom would be approved and this was the response they gave me:

We don't plan on submitting the M4 SOCOM to the ATF for approval. Depending on the examiner that we get depends on whether it would be approved or not. If the ATF says not approved to us, there would be no "wiggle room" for anyone else to install it on a post ban weapons. For example we sent in the AR boom Tube stock and were denied approval. At least one other individual sent in his ARBT and it was approved for post ban use.
Cordially,
Bob & ACE

Are they saying that they think it fits the guidelines, so we should just use it on postbans?  Since it hasn't been denied, you couldn't really be arrested for using it right?  Especially if it falls under the proper guidelines; they would have to prove otherwise in court right?  I want one!

I plan on getting one for my post ban, but once I get the proper check weld, I am permanently fixing it in place.
I understand Ace's responce, and dont fault them in the least for not sending it in.

Technically I believe its post ban legal with a screw tightened, so you would just have it welded for exta insurance right?

Ace says there is "wiggle room", how would you define "wiggle room"?

ACE M4SOCOM comes w/ this solid sling attachment/lock-up block. Also, you can see the spring loaded/tension bolt, which you push for extend&retract.  If you tighten this all the way (approx 1.5-2 full turns), it bottoms the spring out and you won't be able to adjust(possible loophole for postban?) Heck, if I just hand tighten it as far as I can (no tools), it won't budge either.

I looked at this stock and decided AGAIBST it and went a different route. To much what if or maybes on this to be comfortable with it in the field or at the range. What IF you got someone not so leinent to the rules and confiscates your weapon. Rather just be safe, but will say this love the look of it.
