Does anyone know of a source or manufacturer that makes lower receivers in an A1 pattern?

Cast or forged? I would love to buy one

Thanks,

Here's a pic of mine, a preban Sendra.  I don't know of any new manufacturer, but you can find these used on a fairly regular basis if you shop around.

I think he means the slick side lower with no mag release guard. I don't know anybody that makes them  anymore but your best bet is to look out for a pre-ban Colt SP-1. I believe that is the lower that you want.

Thanks Beowulf and Jimtash. Actually I do mean something closer to what Beowulf is showing. I already have an sp1. I need something a small front captive pivot pin. I believe DPMS made what I am looking for and Essential arms did as well. If anyone has pics I would love to see them.

Thanks again for your input.

If you're looking for an authentic look for an A1 type rifle, the mag release fence (and the other reinforcements) can be milled off for the correct look, and then the receiver can be stripped and reanodized and dyed.

If you just need small hole pivot pins (and presumably, small hole fire control components) then you can get a new Bushmaster receiver, or for that matter, practically everybody EXCEPT Colt makes them.

I'm pretty sure all 'A1 receivers had the mag release fence.  What makes it an A1 is the lack of re-enforcement in the area where the buffer tube joins the receiver and the smaller front pivot pin tabs.  It helped me save a few ounces when I built my light weight.

So far as I know, the only lowers they have are A2 pattern.  They are selling A1 style uppers right now, using M16A1 mil surp barrels and an A1 style upper reciever, but unless you've heard otherwise from them, the lowers are the new pattern.

If you do confirm that they have the old style lowers LET US KNOW!!![:D]
