mY local gunshop has a new Bushmaster Modular Carbine for sale for $1200. How are these guns? Are they worth the money? I have seen them at other shops ranging in price from $1300-1600.Any info would be appreciated  

They only cost $50.00!!   That's what I paid for one brand new.  Seriously, I purchased 5 tickets for the "Gunstock" raffle and won the Bushmaster Modular carbine.  My FFL dealer sent off the papers last week.  Hopefully get it this week.  They say it's valued at $1,550.00.  Looks good on their website.  I currently have a 16inch shorty A-3 carbine with the Hbar barrel.  I am very pleased with it. I have a 3x9 scope on it.  I have yet to sight in the irons though.  I wonder if you sight in the flip up sights, that come with the modular carbine, the same way??  I will try to use the "Santose" method with one of my Bushmasters this winter.  I'll let you know more when I receive it.
