Hello. Who makes the best tactical latch? Are they easy to install? Are they worthwhile? Is it better to get something like a PRI gasbuster charging handle with one allready built in? Is the PRI charging handle any good? Thanks, Mike

Buy the PRI Big Latch that comes on the Gasbuster seperately.

By far the best.  Far less snag prone than the Badger latch.  You'll need the right size punch (any hardware store) and a mallet (preferable plastic).  It's easily installed.

What is the difference between the PRI Big Latch and the PRI Military Latch?

I never knew there were 2 versions until this post.  Check here:

It looks like the Flat version is just that.  Flat but with more metal sticking out of the charging handle.

The Military ("Weenie") version, has a cylindrical piece welded on to give you more to grab on to.

The one that has been standard and proven in battle over the last 35 yars is still the best as far as I'm concerned. The others seem to have some kind of problem, either sticking you, causing trouble with the recever, or getting unlatched to easily by sticking out to far.

That 'standard' one did not account for scope usage on a flat top.  It's fine for A1/A2 but is far more difficult to use when you have optics in the way.  That is a problem which the old standard does not address.

The Big Latch-Military (Weenie Version) is what everyone uses here.

The PRI latch has none of these drawbacks and is why everyone loves it.
