Who really makes our AR15's recievers?
I know the companies that finish them of course but who makes them???
How many makers are in total?
How am i to tell who made what reciever and when?
I see Bushies with the same damn markings as Olympic blah blah blah blah etc etc etc

Some one at Bushmaster just told me in all his years he has never seen a upper reciever with 3 letters next to the rear sight..
Yet i have seen a million colts with 3 letters(cmb)but in all his years he hasnt ...what the hell?
I am getting ran around on this issue by people that are suppose to know what they are talking about yet as far as i can tell they dont.
I just dont get it......
Can anybody let us in on this knowledge?
THANKS ALL!

What he means is that Colt in is Conn.
Colt makes their own lower receivers.

Taima - There's another thread discussing the same issue: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=172222&w=myTopicPop

Basically, it's all a big mystery and kept very hush-hush.
