How can a person verify the pre ban status of a PWA firearm? Is it possible to verify if it was shipped from the factory as an assembled assault rifle prior to the ban?

Hard to verify since they are out of business.
Did you check the serial number list on the top of the AR discussion forum?

35222 and Below - Pre-Ban (Note:Some lowers are cast not forged. Out of business) Post-ban have a year prefix in the serial number. Rumored to have only sold lowers.

PWA never sold complete weapons. They sold stripped lowers and kits with everything minus the barrel. I have a preban built on a PWA forged lower and love it. It's my understanding that Rock River Arms bought out PWA......
