thanks for showing us mzzlbrk :)

I must admit I have never seen a wood kit like that before.  Can't say I like it though...I like the Black Rifle look hehe

I like the stock and pistol grip, but the handguards would be better if they were like FN FAL or G3 wooden handguards. The triangular guards just don't look good in walnut, IMHO.

Personally, I like the walnut triangular handguards but have heard that they had issues with cracking.  The wood is just too thin at the front.  Maybe if they were made out of laminated wood.  Or maybe a metal or plastic nosecap for the thin front section.

I have seen the advertised in the DPMS catalog.
I think it was around $120.00 for the A2 stock alone.

I wouldn't buy it

To each his own I guess. I would have given twice what they went for if I would have seen the ad earlier.

I like the traditional black rifle look but the wood really does look different (in a good way)
I would really like to see a set made in a DARK wood likeebony or a Black Diamond wood like some 1911 series (my Wilson Combat) has.

DSArms sells walnut AR stocks as well in case anyone is interested.

That stock set sold for a bargain price.  I have seen one other set for sale in 5 years, and I know of an M16 that has a set installed.

Finally, something worth bidding on at ebay, and I didn't have a clue.

BTW, if you buy a new wood forearm, make sure it's wood and not wood grain paper wrapped around a free-float handguard; at least one popular kit and parts seller sells these, and they look just as bad as they sound.

Springfield Armory sold those wood SP1 style wood stocksets back in the 80's.  Back in 2000 someone on this board scanned a magazine ad for them.  Not sure if they were made here in the US or imported.
