What would be gained?

While it is accepted that an SPR can have down to an 18" bbl, can a SPR not have 24" bbl. and still be a Special Purpose Rifle?

SPR/Varminter = same/same?

The Varminter will be at least as accurate as an SPR if not moreso. But it will be a much more delicate gun. The SPR has strength on not only its accuracy, but its durability.
