First off, thanks for looking

My replacement Ace stock arrived today. After sending me a beat-up used one Bushmaster was kind enough to overnight a replacement.

I just got it installed and I'm happy as hell with it The LOP is perfect for my wife yet still long enough for me to be comfortable with it. The finish looks like a good match on my Colt.

How do you guys like your Ace stocks? Has anyone had any problems with theirs? So far I'm impressed with the build quality-they appear to be extremely rugged.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I have one on my .40 AR.
Perfect weight and length for my carbine.
And it's better than those pinned collabsibles.

Agreed...
I have the same style ACE LE(short stock) on my carbine...

Is that the standard recoil pad or a shorter one? Doesn't the ARFX-E Stock come with a thicker pad?

Looks good!

I've got the full-length version...I don't have the recoil pad installed. I'm 6'2", and find the LOP just right.

I'm mostly concerned with the longevity of that foam pad, and if replacements will be available for eternity...

It's the shorter 1/2" pad.

Looks good.  I may have to order one from CMMG when I get the spare cash.  It looks like it will be just about the right lengh of pull for my all around gun.

Great Stock.  I have the exact same one on my carbine.  I have the full spacer on mine though.
Glad to hear Bushmaster made things right for you.

RussB,

Don't worry too much.  If for some reason you can't find a replacement pad, you could always wrap it with paracord.  Might be an easy way to carry and extra 50ft without taking up any space.

I've got the UltraLite full size now and really like it. I can turn the buttstock end to fit perfectly were I want it to be. I think the ARFX-E will be my next addition. It looks a little more "built", better for real use, and such.

I too have an ACE stock...I have the full length one on a Post Ban carbine of mine..the stock is quite nice. I elected to keep off the rubber pad. It's closer to the length of the A1 Stock which fits me better. I'm curious to know what people do to their guns to cause the foam pad to tear...I say this now...but just wait...I'll know soon...I'll find out with my own gun..

Colt,

I have had good luck with mine, no tear.  However, as you said, I am sure it will happen.  I will do the paracord trick when I need too.

I have the full length version. I did the paracord thing because it looks nicer than the foam. Don't use any rubber but pads either. Fits nice. I want the LE version for my 9mm.

My first build, bought direct from ACE, one of his first production runs:

Finished in August, bought from Del-Ton.  Weighs a little less than 5 pounds:

Great products, highly recommended.

I think that's an OKO sight.

I replaced the foam pad on mine with a piece of rubber from a bicycle tire tube. A mountain bike tube 26x1.5, works perfectly, insulates and almost perfectly matches the metal parts. Gives the stock that fully open "para" look, easily replaceable, and doesn't collect dirt and debris like paracord. We had a pretty good thread going on this topic a couple of weeks ago that included pics. I'll try to find them.
