I recently got my first AR-15.  It is a new RRA 24" stainless steel varminter.  It took nearly 5 months of waiting, but it is a beautiful rifle.  Last Saturday, DaveS took me out to a farm where he has shooting privileges, and we shot it for the first time.  Here is me preparing to shoot my new rifle:

Here is another view looking down range at the 100 yard target:

Here is DaveS shooting it:

And another view of DaveS:

Here is my 3 shot group from 25 yards:

Here is one of my 3 shot groups from 100 yards (not my best, but the only one I have a photo of - I don't think it's too awful for a beginner):

Here is DaveS's 3 shot group from 100 yards (You know, DaveS, it's not nice to show up a guy with his own rifle - especially when it's brand new!):

That RRA 24" varminter is one accurate rifle.  Needless to say, I LOVE MY NEW RRA!!!

Wonderful rifle!

I got a 20" for my first rifle,a nd I couldn't be happier.  Excellent groupings, specially with handloads.

Here's a picture of my 24" RRA varminter and the results on a couple targets at 100 and 200yrds.

It has a Stag lower, but that's basically a RRA anyway.  The trigger group is a WOA tuned RRA two stage.  Leupold 6.5-20X40 on top.

That last group should be tighter, as I screwed up the last shot and hit very low - right.

I love this rifle..

I have the same rifle. Yesterday it averaged .77 MOA. The average is from three, three shot groups fired at 200,300,400 and 500 yards. The load was 25.3 gr of varget, win cases, 69 g Sierra MK and Remington 7 1/2 primers.

Awesome groupings, guys!  No doubt about it, RRA makes a sweet AR-15.  How did you manage to dig up this thread after almost a year?!?

I still love my RRA Varminter, too.  I just took my two teenage daughters to the range yesterday and they got to shoot it.  It was their first time with with it, and I think they did a pretty respectble job.  Like a bonehaed, I forgot to take a camera to the range.    I will have to get some pictures of the targets.

LOL I didn't notice it was a year old!  It was on the 1st or 2nd page when I was surfing through the site.

What;s the deal with RRA anyway?  Have they got ONE guy there building rifles?  I don't think anybody else has got that long of a back-order.  I'd love to own one myself, but I'm not paitient enough to wait for one.

Nice rifle

The delay wasn't all due to RRA (their delay at the time was ~6 or 8 weeks - but remember that this was a year ago).  Had some trouble getting the order right with the dealer, but he came through quite well in the end.
