I just read on in Wood Magazine that sounds real applicable to guns.  Tidy Cat Krystals are silica moisture absorbant.  You can put 1-2 lbs in an old pantyhose, and drop it in the bottom of the gunsafe/closet, etc.  Made to absorb moisture.  I'm going to try that.

Yes, they are the same as silica gel and you can get bags of them from the local pet supply place.
