How does the finish matchup on these 2?

For that matter which other manufacturers finish matches Colt best?

Thanks much.

Depends on what Colt color you're talking about. I've have four different Colt uppers (still have three of them), and every one was a different shade. Beyond that, the aftermarket producers also change shades from time to time.  The Rock River lower I bought two weeks agoe is slightly different from the one I bought two years ago, and Bushies also change shades from time to time.

Your best bet is to hit a big gun show, with sellers peddling different brands, and see who's got the closest to your piece.  One word of warning though. If your Colt piece is an early SP1 or mil surp piece, NOBODY will have a current production piece that's even close[:D]

Colt seems to do more gray shades while the stuff I got from DPMS is black. I just put the lower receiver from Colt sporter on my Colt H-bar upper, & they areb;t even close in color.

It also depends which Eagle Arms you are talking about...

My preban Coal Valley lower is very dark, nearly black, and a half decent match for a current Colt M4 upper.  I have seen other Eagles that are more gray...

My preban Coal Valley Eagle Arms lower is more on the grey side, and in some light settings it even has a purple hue to it.

But can't be beat for $650 [:D]

Really am interested in how the new black hard anodizing matches up. Anyone out there put anything like this together?
