I think he meant pseudo, i.e. the fake telestocks.
Well either is fine, really. To split hairs the superlight has a 16" barrell while the m4 only has 14" that are rifled with a brake on the end. The 16" will increase the velocity of the round, which increases the range at which most rounds will fragment and be more effective if you are concerned with self defense. But the M4 brake does protect the crown of the barrel if the rifle is getting dropped, banged around etc. Personally I'd get the superlight, but if you like the m4 a lot better, what the heck it'll be fine.
I don't like the fake telestocks, they give a poor cheek weld and aren't as solid if you have to slam the carbine on the ground to clear a malfunction.
Welcome aboard, however be warned your mini-30s days are numbered. There is a bunch of better stuff we are going to talk you into buying so you might as well unload that now [}:D]
I had a mini 30 for years, it had the POTENTIAL to be such a great all around carbine, okay for hunting, okay for self defense, convenient to carry-but finally I admitted to myself that it was junk and sold it. An SAR-1 (romanian AK) is a far better gun and cheap $ 300 or so, and they are sort of drying up so don't say I didn't warn you! [:D]
PS-Bushmaster is offering us a special deal on polo shirts, cut and past the link I have at the bottom of this post.
