Been looking at a new project....I keep seeing these xm-177 klones...whats is the deal on the origanal ones...where the brakes/moderators suppressors or not....I saw several links a while back...does anyone know....have pic,s...links........thanks

The original XM177 flash hiders also had baffles that acted as a (poor) suppressor. Today, you are going to have to jump through all the suppressor hoops to get an original one. However, companies sell XM177 flash hiders that do not have the baffles in them, so that they can be used on prebans.

It was designed to lower the sound of the XM177 down to that of a standard M16 with a 20 inch barrel. ATF says it is a suppressor. Here is a pic of a cut-a-way of two of the real ones. You can clearly see the baffels.

yea great pic ...it looks like 2 pcs sleeved together...but it cuts the shorty to sound of a 20......thats still loud
